Why Choose a Blue Kitchen?
The rise of blue kitchen cabinets in 2026 points to a growing desire for more distinctive, personalised kitchen spaces. Magnet say that “blue kitchens are right on-trend, blending perfectly with timeless shaker styles as well as minimalistic, modern designs”. They also say that “whether light and airy or dark and bold, its quirky character will help create a beautiful hub in your home”.
Whichever blue you choose for your kitchen cabinets, we are sure that you will love the results as blues create a calm and creative atmosphere. Howdens agree with there being benefits of choosing a blue shade, saying “from relaxing seaside shades and sophisticated jewel tones, blue kitchens have been a fond favourite for interiors thanks to their stress-busting benefits on households”.
Which Blue is Most Popular in Kitchens?
Hague Blue is the most popular shade of blue with our customers. We have sprayed this beautiful blue on over 55 occasions so far. One of our teams, Connor and Shae, will be spraying a kitchen in Hague Blue next week and another of our teams, Charlie and Emma, will be spraying this colour next week too, except they will be spray painting wardrobes in it. We begin spraying outdoors again early next month and our Sprayer Jim will be spraying a front door in Hague Blue mid-March. If you would like to see the before and after photos that our teams take on their upcoming sprays (as well as thousands of photos of past sprays), you can follow us on Instagram and Facebook.
Which Blue Should You Choose for Your Kitchen Cabinets?
There are so many blues to choose from, ranging from calm, serene blues to bold and dramatic blues. With such a broad spectrum of blue shades, there is something for every taste! When choosing a blue, you should start by considering the other colours in your kitchen, such as the worktops, tiles and flooring.
Charming, classic and refreshing, light blue tones brighten kitchens and can help smaller or low-light spaces appear larger. Darker blues are bold, sophisticated and visually striking. Ideal Home say that “when it comes to blue kitchen ideas, navy has been riding high in the style stakes for a while”. They do however predict that lighter blues will continue to trend, stating “the sky blue shade has been big in 2025 and heading into 2026”. We can assist you to pick the perfect blue colour for your kitchen spray.
Which Blues Can be Sprayed?
Ideal Home advise that “if you want something unique, choose a company that can colour match your favourite shades…you can let your imagination run riot with the colour”. We here at We Spray uPVC are the company for you! There are 26 blues in Farrow and Ball’s Signature palette and 25 RAL Classic blue hues and we have all of those colour matched, as well as the other blues featured within this blog post. We can also colour match any other blue of your choosing, so long as you can provide us with a small sample, such as a colour card.
Many of our customers choose to have all of their kitchen cabinets painted in a shade of blue whereas others choose to have a two-tone kitchen, sometimes with just their island sprayed blue and the remaining cabinets sprayed in a neutral colour. Ideal Home say that “colour doesn’t have to take over all of your kitchen cabinetry…picking out just an island in the more dominant shade allows you to embrace colour without overwhelming the space”. You can click here to see some of the two-tone kitchens that our teams have transformed over the years.
