We get asked about window spraying a lot, mostly because people want to know if it’s legit, how long it lasts and whether it’s worth the money. Here are some of the questions that we are asked most often about spray painting windows.

Window Spraying

What is window spraying?
Window frame spraying is the process of professionally painting existing windows using specialist coatings and spray equipment to change their colour and refresh their look.

Is spraying better than replacing windows?
Exterior window spraying is far cheaper, less disruptive and gives a similar visual result when done properly. Other benefits of uPVC window spraying are that you can choose any colour for your frames and having windows resprayed rather than replaced unnecessarily is better for the environment.

Can uPVC windows be sprayed?
Most windows can be sprayed, as long as the frames are structurally sound but damaged frames are unsuitable unfortunately. We mostly colour change uPVC windows however we do spray aluminium and wooden windows too.

Professional uPVC spraying carried out by a trusted window spraying company is extremely durable. We guarantee our coating for 10 years, as the correct preparation takes place and we use a specialist coating which is applied professionally.

Will the paint peel, crack or fade?
No, as our teams carry out proper surface preparation prior to spraying and the paint that we use is specifically made for coating uPVC and is UV-resistant and weather-resistant.

Is the finish weatherproof?
Yes, our professional coating is designed to withstand UV, rain, frost and heat.

Does it affect window operation?

What colours can I choose from?
You can have your windows sprayed in almost any colour. We have over 400 colours matched already, including Farrow and Ball and RAL colour options and you are welcome to have another bespoke colour matched for your spray, if preferable. RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey windows are extremely popular with our customers.

Can you spray wood-grain uPVC?
Yes. The colour of your windows will have changed but the wood-grain texture will still be visible after the uPVC frame spraying.

Is the finish matte, satin or gloss?
We offer 10% matte, 30% satin or 70% low gloss long-lasting finishes. Almost all of the window sprays that we carry out are in satin, our standard finish.

How long does the spraying take?
One of the benefits of uPVC window spraying is how quick this service is. Respraying uPVC windows on an average house usually takes 1–2 days. A team can spray around 6 windows each day, although this does depend on factors such as the size of the windows to be sprayed and the number of openers.

Do windows need to be removed?
No. Everything is sprayed in place and our teams carry out meticulous masking and protection of the areas surrounding the windows.

Will there be overspray or mess?
Our professional masking prevents overspray. When our teams leave, the area worked in is left clean and rubbish is taken away.

Can I stay in the house during spraying?
Yes, although the windows will need to remain open whilst being spray painted.
