Is it Worth Painting Kitchen Worktops?
Can Kitchen Cabinets be Spray Painted?
Can Kitchen Tiles be Spray Painted?
Yes, kitchen worktops can be spray painted however this is something that we would advise against. When spraying kitchen cabinets, we are so confident in the durability of the paint that we apply that we guarantee the adhesion of the paint for 10 years. Unfortunately, it would not be possible to offer such a lengthy guarantee on painted worktops due to the differences in how worktops are used in comparison to kitchen cabinets.
Is it Worth Painting Kitchen Worktops?
- As mentioned above, we do not recommend applying paint to worktops and so this is not a service that we offer unfortunately.
- Worktops are used as surfaces for a variety of reasons, such as food preparation, for storing appliances such as air fryers, kettles and toasters and even as desks when using laptops or as storage for laundry baskets, for example. This means that work surfaces are much more susceptible to every day wear and tear and to being scuffed and scratched.
- On all of the sprays that we carry out, we use two pack polyurethane acrylic paint which is highly resistant to abrasion and very durable however it is still possible for the paint to become damaged. If items are to be left on and possibly dragged across work surfaces, the paint could come away and need to be touched up frequently.
- Unless you are willing to be especially carefully with your painted worktops and to regularly maintain them, we would recommend replacing your worktops instead of applying paint to the existing worktops.
