How to Get a Quote for Door Spraying
If you’re thinking about refreshing the look of your front door or garage door, professional spray painting is one of the most cost-effective ways to do it. Rather than replacing a perfectly good door just because the colour has faded or no longer suits your taste, a professional respray can transform it in a single day at a fraction of the cost of a full replacement.
In this guide, we break down exactly what you can expect to pay for door spraying in 2026, what affects the price and what’s included in the service.
How Much Does Front Door Spraying Cost?
Our front door spraying starts from £275 plus VAT for a standard door without the frame, or £300 plus VAT including the frame.
The price you pay will depend on a few factors, which we cover in more detail below, but as a general guide, most customers find that a professional door respray costs significantly less than buying and fitting a brand new door.
As can be seen from these photos, we can spray paint items in a lighter or darker colour than their original colour and we can spray the door and frame in two separate colours if preferred. This faded composite door was spray painted in RAL 9005 Jet Black and the door frame was sprayed in High Opacity White. We guarantee that our paint will not fade, discolour, crack or peel for 10 years and so our customer no longer needs to worry about his door fading.
How Much Does Garage Door Spraying Cost?
Garage door spraying starts from the same price point as front doors:
- Single garage door — from £275 plus VAT (without frame) or £300 plus VAT (including frame).
- Double garage door — from £400 plus VAT (without frame) or £450 plus VAT (including frame).
Again, exact pricing will vary depending on the size of the door, its current condition and the colour you choose. We’re always happy to provide a free, no-obligation quote before any work begins.
This single garage door was sprayed in one of our most popular external colours, Chartwell Green. On this occasion, the garage door frame was not spray painted and the green looked lovely alongside the existing white items.
What Types of Door Can Be Spray Painted?
One of the great things about professional door spraying is that it works on a wide range of door materials. We spray:
- Composite doors — one of the most popular door types in the UK, composite doors respond beautifully to spray painting. Whether yours has faded, discoloured or you simply fancy a change, a respray can make it look brand new.
- uPVC doors — uPVC is extremely common on UK homes and is very well suited to spray painting. We use specialist paints that bond directly to the uPVC surface for a long-lasting, professional finish.
- Aluminium doors — aluminium doors are increasingly popular, particularly on modern properties. They can be resprayed in any colour to refresh their appearance or match a new colour scheme.
- Wooden doors — wooden doors can also be professionally spray painted, giving a far more even finish than brush or roller painting at home.
If you’re unsure whether your door is suitable, just get in touch and we’ll be happy to advise.
As well as standard front doors, our teams can also spray paint bi-fold doors, French patio doors, sliding doors and stable doors. These sliding doors were sprayed in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, our most popular spray colour.
What Affects the Cost of Door Spraying?
While our prices start from £275 plus VAT, a number of factors can influence the final cost:
- Whether the frame is included – spraying just the door itself is the more affordable option, but many customers choose to include the frame for a fully uniform, refreshed look. Including the frame adds around £25 plus VAT to the price.
- Single or double garage door – double garage doors require more time and materials than single doors, which is reflected in the higher starting price.
- The condition of the door – if your door has significant damage, deep scratches or areas that need preparation work before spraying, this may affect the overall price. We’ll always assess this during the quoting process and be upfront about any additional costs before we start.
- The colour you choose – standard colours are included within our pricing. Certain specialist or bespoke colour matches may carry a small additional cost. We can spray doors in virtually any RAL or Farrow & Ball colour, so the choice really is yours.
This double garage door was sprayed in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey. We respray faded doors often as many manufacturers do not use UV resistant coatings. Our teams apply only the best quality paint, which is UV resistant and we use the same paint whether we are carrying out external sprays or internal sprays, such as kitchen sprays.
Is Door Spraying Worth It?
Absolutely. Consider that a new composite front door can easily cost £1,000–£2,000 or more once you factor in supply and fitting. A professional respray at a fraction of that cost achieves a stunning result without the disruption of having a door removed and replaced.
The same logic applies to garage doors — a replacement up-and-over or sectional garage door can run into the hundreds or thousands of pounds. Spraying your existing door is a smart, sustainable alternative that delivers a high-quality finish.
Our spray painting is also long-lasting. We use professional-grade paints that are designed to withstand the elements, resist fading, and hold their colour for years to come. If you would like to read reviews from our past customers, we have over a thousand on our Trustpilot, Facebook and Google pages.
Another colour that we spray often is RAL 7038 Agate Grey and that is the colour that the above door was spray painted in. A door spray such as this takes our experienced Spray Painters just a couple of hours to complete.

As part of our door spray preparation, our Sprayers clean then scotch the surface which is to be sprayed and they mask off the surrounding area. If the door frame is to be sprayed, the existing silicone is removed and new silicone applied once the spray has been completed. Our customer chose a match to French Gray by Farrow and Ball for this spray. The finish was 10% matte. All of the other photos included within this blog post are of our 30% satin finish, which is the finish that we spray most regularly.
