Cleaning Spray Painted Kitchen Cabinets
Ongoing Handling and Maintenance
Aftercare Following a Kitchen Spray
Today we are going to give advice about how to maintain your newly sprayed kitchen cabinets, so you can enjoy a beautiful kitchen and boost the visual appeal of your home for many years. A professional kitchen respray should last for many years and that is why our sprays come with a guarantee that the paint applied will not crack, peel, fade or discolour for 10 years.
Kitchen Cabinets Curing Time
While the paint that our teams apply will be touch dry very quickly, it does take 24 hours to fully cure and harden. It is essential that you allow your cabinets this time to cure to reach peak durability. A little patience for just 24 hours goes a long way towards a smooth, lasting finish.
If you have chosen to put your cabinet handles on after our team have left, rather than having our team attach those for you, you can do so once 24 hours have passed.
After 24 hours, you can also put items back into your kitchen cabinets and onto your worktops and push back any freestanding appliances which you had removed.
If you plan to decorate your walls/ceilings, we recommend waiting until after the spray and for the curing time to pass, rather than painting/applying wallpaper before and we also recommend using a low tack tape to mask off your kitchen cabinets.
If you do encounter any issues or need advice during the curing process or at any time afterwards, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Cleaning Spray Painted Kitchen Cabinets
Routine cleaning helps stop grease and grime build-up that can diminish the look of your cabinets. We recommend that you clean your items using a soft, non-abrasive cloth (such as microfiber) dampened with soapy water. Drying items after cleaning them helps to keep surfaces streak-free. Please avoid using harsh chemicals (such as bleach) or abrasive materials (such as rough scourers) as those could scratch or damage the finish.
Because of daily use, kitchens do often have spills. When you spill anything, such as food or drink, onto your cabinets, please clean the spill promptly, to avoid stubborn stains which can be difficult to remove.

Ongoing Handling and Maintenance
Please check regularly that your cabinets and drawers are properly aligned and ensure all screws and hardware are tightened.
You should also ask family members to use handles and knobs rather than touching the painted surfaces, helping to keep fingerprints and smudges to a minimum.
Also, try to keep sharp objects and pet claws away from painted cabinets whenever possible. Spray painted kitchen cabinets have a finish similar to cars, with the paint applied being extremely durable and resulting in a factory finish. The cabinets are resistant to everyday kitchen usage however as with cars, the paint can still be chipped or scratched by sharp objects or due to improper care. Small chips or scratches can often be restored with a simple touch-up. Should your cabinets sustain any damage, please contact us for guidance on the best way to address it.

Controlling Moisture
Whether or not your kitchen cabinets, if moisture sits on the surface, it can cause the wood to swell, which can result in stuck doors and damaged finishes over time. We therefore recommend:
- That when cleaning, you use a cloth that is only slightly damp and that you promptly wipe away moisture.
- Not hanging damp tea towels or cloths on cabinets or drawers.
- Using an extractor fan, dehumidifier or opening windows to reduce the accumulation of steam and heat. Keeping the kitchen well-ventilated can also help prevent the build-up of grease.

Sunlight
Many of the customers whose kitchens we respray have chosen to have a respray because their kitchen had become faded or yellowed due to sunlight. You will be pleased to hear that exposure to sunlight is not something that you need to worry about, as the paint that we apply has been engineered to be extremely UV resistant. That is why we can guarantee that the paint applied will not fade for 10 years!
