What is Kitchen Spraying?

Kitchen spraying is the process whereby a Spray Technician uses a spray gun to coat kitchen cabinets professionally in a customer’s chosen colour. Some of our customers choose to have their kitchen cupboards coated in a different colour or finish to the existing colour/finish whereas others have kitchens where just in need of a refresh and so instead of opting for an expensive kitchen replacement or renovation, they have their kitchens resprayed in the same or a similar colour for a fraction of the cost.

When we complete a kitchen respray, we spray cabinet doors, drawer fronts, plinths, cornices, pelmets, side and end panels, wine racks, exposed shelving areas, the internals of glass fronted cupboards and the carcass fronts. The kitchen cabinet spraying process is faster and more cost-effective than a kitchen replacement and so long as your kitchen is still in a good condition, spray painting can achieve a brand-new showroom finish!

Today’s blog post features photos of the Farrow and Ball colours which were most popular for kitchen sprays in 2024:

Elephant’s Breath

The Farrow and Ball colour sprayed most regularly last year was Elephant’s Breath. Our teams sprayed this beautiful mid grey 26 times during 2024! Farrow and Ball describe this colour as “an uplifting mid grey with its hint of magenta, but can become almost lilac in the cooler light of west facing rooms”. If you like the look of this colour, you may also like Great Grey by Johnstone’s.

Drop Cloth

Our second most popular Farrow and Ball kitchen spray colour sprayed last year was Drop Cloth, described by Farrow and Ball as “a gentle mid grey beige”. When our Spray Technicians spray a customer’s chosen colour, they do not spray that actual brand of paint and instead spray an extremely durable two pack polyurethane/acrylic paint which has been colour matched to the chosen colour. We guarantee that the coating sprayed will not fade, crack, peel or discolour for 10 years.

Cornforth White

Cornforth White has been a very popular colour choice for kitchen sprays not just for 2024 but ever since we began spraying! This pale grey was sprayed 18 times last year. If you like Cornforth White, you may also like Quartz Grey by Dulux or Picket Fence by Benjamin Moore.

Ammonite

Ammonite was our customers’ fourth most picked colour last year. This colour is most regularly spray painted in our standard satin sheen. We do also spray kitchens in matte and low gloss sheens however 30% satin is by far our most sprayed finish. If you have viewed our before and after photos on our Facebook or Instagram pages, it is highly likely that those sprays will have been carried out in satin. If you are particularly interested in our 10% matte or 70% low gloss sheens, please call or send us a message and we can then send you photos of kitchen transformations carried out in 10% and/or 70%.

Joa’s White

This lovely colour surged in popularity last year! It is similar to Little Greene’s Clay Deep and Farrow and Ball describe it as “a light and clean taupe with the merest hint of black pigment”. We anticipate that this lovely neutral will continue to be a popular colour choice for kitchen resprays during 2025 and beyond.
