Over the years that we have been spray painting kitchens, we have seen many cabinet colour trends come and go however throughout that time, white colour choices have had real staying power and so we believe that white coloured cabinets are going to be just as popular for many years to come. White kitchen cabinets are classic and enduring. As white complements so many other colours, it is such a versatile colour choice and there are cool, creamy and warm whites to choose from.
We are often asked whether we can spray paint darker kitchens to lighter colours, such as white. The answer to this question is yes, we can! Our teams may need to apply more coats of paint than usual to achieve full coverage over a dark kitchen however spraying a kitchen lighter is a task that can most definitely be achieved and something that our teams do regularly.
What is the Most Popular White for Kitchen Cabinet Spray Painting?
High Opacity White
High Opacity White is a pure brilliant white and is the white that our customers choose most often for their kitchen respray. The kitchens above were sprayed in our standard 30% satin sheen and High Opacity White is also a popular colour choice for customers wanting a gloss finish, with this being our most often sprayed colour in our 70% low gloss sheen. Farrow and Ball Whites
Of these six Farrow and Ball whites shades sprayed by our teams, All White is the whitest and is described by Farrow and Ball as “a totally pure white”. If you are considering a grey based white for your kitchen spray, we would recommend Strong White or Wevet. For a softer white, Pointing or School House White are lovely options. White Tie is more of a creamy white and Farrow and Ball describe it as their “prettiest white”.

Is White Still Popular for Kitchen Cabinets?
Country Living have ranked white 5th in their rankings of top kitchen colours for 2025 and House Building advise that “bright white kitchens are being replaced by warm whites” this year. So far we have completed almost one month of kitchen spraying in 2025 and our spray teams are booked up until around mid March and it does seems that whites are continuing to be a popular and dominating colour choice with our customers.
